April 2013 Dear friends and partners in ministry Ghana Mission Trip with Team from Cuauhtémoc Chihuahua Mexico Holland I had the privilege to take an awesome group of men from Mexico on a mission trip to Ghana. We spent three days in Holland and enjoyed the amazing artistic city of Amsterdam, went to see Noah’s Ark. (built according to the size of Noah’s Ark) Part of the group also went to Germany and a couple of us went to Witmarsum which was Menno Simons hometown. We met a wonderful man by the name of Kees Knijnenberg who led us to these places. We went into the church where Menno ministered as a Catholic priest, but later had to flee because of his belief in Jesus Christ, and believing in baptism upon your personal faith rather than being baptized as a child. We were in four other Mennonite churches including one in Amsterdam. All the churches we visited are almost empty. I asked one of the people why that was and he said because there is no Spirit. But he said that the Pentecostal churches are thriving. It is sad that what was once a powerful and lively faith in Jesus Christ, strong enough for people to be willing to die for, now has become spiritually almost dead. But praise God for the life in some of the other churches! Let’s pray that the Mennonite Churches in that part of the world will also be revived. Ghana Part of the group did some maintenance on the farm equipment including putting on the new ripper on the bull dozer. Thank you guys! That was a big blessing to all of us in the Ghana team. Children ministryWe had children’s church and about 600 children came out. We had gotten a meal for 500 so the very small ones had to share. Please keep these children in prayer, also the ministry that we may do a quality job in ministering to these children.

Outdoor Meeting We had an outdoor meeting where some from our group shared their testimonies of how God had saved, delivered and set them free from poverty, addictions and other things. And those who responded to the word that night were prayed for and encouraged in the Lord.

House BuildingWisdom is a man who is crippled from waist down because of polio. He lives in our village so we personally know him.

Wisdom’s house collapsed in 2012 leaving him and his 8 year old twins with a relative whose living standards were also very poor. Part of the group helped build a 2 room house for him. We were not able to finish it but left the money for our Ghanaian team to finish it. They just finished the painting yesterday.

Highlights of the tripI personally enjoyed the whole trip, it was a God ordained trip with purpose. One of the highlights was our group time of prayer and experiencing the presence of God in our midst. I believe each person experienced God in a profound and a new way which, if walked out will have a profound impact in each one.

Other updates The gift boxes and gift bags have arrived at the village last week! Thank you all for participating in this project. The tractor payment that was due during our last newsletter has been paid! Thank you all who helped with that.We are preparing to head back to Ghana some time at the end of June. Would you pray with us for the Ghanaian people, for continual peace in the country, for the church to arise and shine, and please pray for us, for protection, for the Lord’s leading and direction, for His perfect will to be done in and through our lives? Thank you.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with youFrom Jake and Katharine Reddekopp
