Dufferin Child and Family Services is a multi-service agency providing Children’s Mental Health, Child Protection and Developmental Support. The agency currently requires a: CPIN Trainer (12 month contract role) This contract position is in the bargaining unit, and will report to the CPIN Lead(s). The CPIN Trainers will be responsible for the provision of clinical and technical consultation and support to all levels of DCAFS staff through the implementation and successful integration of the CPIN system. Knowledge & Skills Required: Current and detailed knowledge of CFSA, the Differential Response Model, the Ontario Child Welfare Eligibility Spectrum, the Child Abuse Protocol, Ministry standards and guidelines, Child Welfare legal processes and proceedings; Knowledge of DCAFS policies and procedures related to service delivery in all departments; Patience, flexibility and professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and in a team context; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to establish supportive relationships with staff and act as an effective first point of contact for staff; Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills providing articulate, constructive, meaningful and timely interaction at all levels with the ability to make complex issues understandable; Knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to translate it to the needs of CPIN learners; Technical expertise with the software that will be used to support learning (Solid ability to use MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) ; High level of technical expertise is required and must be highly proficient in CWIS/E-Forms; Excellent planning, time-management, multi-tasking and organizational skills; Excellent mentoring, coaching and communication skills to provide instructions and guidance to staff with respect to activities, challenges and questions; Demonstrated knowledge of change management theory and practice; Advanced understanding and commitment to quality service and best practice; Acts with integrity, trustworthiness, humility, transparency and compassion; Demonstrated critical thinker and detail oriented; Excellent ability to work with and meet tight timelines.

Qualifications: BSW or MSW degree from a University of recognized standing, or equivalent as deemed suitable by the Executive

Director; Minimum of 2 years Child Welfare CPW experience and preference is given to candidates with Family Service and or

Protection experience; Must have a valid Ontario “G” class driver’s license and available vehicle.
