How It Works - A Very Unique CameraLand & Sea

The S ea Life Reefma ster Digital La nd & S ea ca mera a llow s you to c hoose

between Land Mode for taking land pictures, Sea Mode for takingunderwater pictures and Flash mode for taking underwater pictures with your

S ea Life External fla sh (optiona l a c ces sory). This is es sential for ta king g rea t pic-

tures a nd a chieving the perfect p icture expos ure.

Sea Mode: If the ca mera is s et to S ea Mode a nd used inside the Underwa ter

Camera Housing, the camera is programmed to automatically find the best

expos ure control c ombination in a n unde rw a ter environment. The interna l

sens or rea ds the light cond itions throug h the lens (TTL). It eva lua tes the w hole

picture in 64 seg ments w ith higher priority in the center. Then it automa tic a lly

se ts the correc t exposure time a nd CC D sens itivity. S ea Life ha s tes ted s everalthousand combinations to achieve the optimal exposure controls. If the sur-

round ing light is too da rk, the fla sh w ill fire a utoma tica lly. While in the S ea mode ,

the ca mera fla sh will a c tua lly fire tw o, three o r four times depend ing on the

dista nce to the subjec t. The wea ker fla shes, c a lled a p re-fla sh, is used to

determine the brightness and reflection of whatever youre taking a picture of.

The prima ry fla sh w ill fire 0.2 sec ond s a fter the pre-fla sh (ha rdly not icea ble).

Only the primary flash is used by the camera for properly exposing the final

pic ture. The c omb ina tion of the pre-fla shes a nd ma in fla sh e nsures the op tima l

expos ure se tting for the ca mera. The rea ch of the inner ca meras fla sh is

limited to 3, s o w e highly rec omme nd you g et the S ea Life Externa l Fla sh for thebrightest, most colorful pictures.

Flash mode: In order to reduc e underwa ter b a cksca tter (spo ts tha t show up

in pictures caused by tiny particles in the water) and get more vivid colors, we

recommend that you use the SeaLife External Flash, which is sold

se pa ra tely. You c a n even use tw o externa l fla shes, like the pros d o, in orde r to

elimina te sha dow s in your pic tures . When using the Sea Life Externa l Fla sh, you

must set the ca mera to the Fla sh Mode. The Fla sh Mode do es not use a pre-

flash, since this would cause the external flash to fire during the pre-flash and

not during the primary flash. If you are taking close-up pictures with the SeaLife Macro lenses and External

Fla sh a nd you experienc e o verfla shing from a reflec tive fish or ob jec t, you ha ve

the choice of immediately deleting the image by pressing the shutter button
