Security Options…Four Security Models:• None

– Individual user access to reports is determined by assigned responsibility(ies)

• Flexfield Value Security– Standard flexfield value security (GL Security Rules or

Data Access Sets) is attached to a responsibility and applied to publishing and viewing financial reports

• User to Value Security– Security can be defined in Oracle Report Manager to

control access to secured financial reports• PL/SQL Based Security

– Create and apply custom security suited to an organization’s specific needs

© DBAK 2011 37

Security Options…Flexfield Value Security• The report is a financial report (FSG)• The report is submitted with a content set• Exactly one segment value in the content set has a display

type of PE (Page/Expand)• Choose the security in the report submission parameter

User to Value Security• Applied to FSGs that use a content set or standard reports

that contain a valid expansion value• Based on segment values for reports published in the

repository– View reports based on a segment value and framed by a

security model set for the specific user(s)

Things to Consider…Need an Oracle log-in to access reports, but uses the Oracle Applications Self Services Web ApplicationsRequires XML Publisher (XDO Engine) for publishing reports with logos and formattingFSG’s must be defined in the General LedgerStandard reports must be assigned to the request group assigned to the Report Manager responsibility(ies)Ensure the GL: Data Access Set profile option is set correctly for the Report Manager responsibility (pointed to the correct ledger or ledger set)

© DBAK 2011 43

Things to Consider…Templates are report-specific• Templates need to be defined for each report published

through Report Manager, including Standard reports• Can use the seeded “Generic FSG Template” with any

FSG report• Cannot modify the seeded “Generic FSG Template”

Standard report templates must be defined from the XML Publisher responsibilityRun reports with content sets only in the sequentially processing mode• XML Publisher does not support the parallel type

processing with content sets

Things to Consider…Cannot use Report Manager to define or update FSG report components at this timeHelpful notes from My Oracle Support:• 436502.1 – Drilldown error resolution• 734015.1 – How to Publish FSG Reports• 1113366.1 – FAQ’s

Ensure Patch 6884280 (R12) is applied for Repository Maintenance prior to running the maintenance program
