Report ManagerRelease 12 Enhancements

• Report Manager comes preinstalled with Release 12 – No more patching required

• Reports can be run by Ledger– Reuse reports across all Ledgers

• Report sets do not launch a separate request for each report in the set– Makes managing requests more efficient

– Does not cause a backlog for other requests

• Enabling Report Manager Privileges profile option is no longer a requirement

• Report Manager is a Self Service Application that can be published in xml– Allows for easy sharing of data with other applications or Enterprises

• Expansion Value allows for ad hoc filtering of the FSG report

Report ManagerOther Key Benefits

• Report Archiving through the Repository– Allows you to upload any type of file and publish it to a report repository – Contents of the repository can be distributed to the Oracle E-Business Suite home page– Reports can be archived and deleted through Report Manager

• Security Workbench – Allows the tightening down of security on FSGs– Based on content sets

• Drilldown from FSGs directly back to originating transactions• Templates are created using Excel

– All formatting available in Excel is available for templates• Excel, PDF, HTML or XML publishing formats• Ability to create a menu item for a published report

– Easy access to reports without waiting for them to be published again– Too much of this will clutter your home page

Report Repository Management

Known Issues(as of this writing, Note 404707.1 on Metalink)

• Watermarks and background images are not supported in base R12 • To use images in your financial report templates

– You must enable the Financial Report Template Editor to upload the images in your template to the Application server

• If "Out of Memory" errors occur during the publishing process– Increase the JVM heap size

• A "Page Not Found" error occurs when trying to view report output using the PDF output type, when viewing report output migrated from earlier versions of Report Manager (legacy reports), or when viewing third party files

– Apply patch 6145856 (RM PDF R12 Unable to Output to PDF from Report Manager)• When publishing an FSG report set using Oracle Report Manager, only the first report

in the report set is published – When you publish a report set, select the Publish check box for each report name and then

click the Publish button. If a report name is already selected, deselect that report and then select it again

– A fix is also available from Oracle Support• Avoid using special characters in Template names

– Doing this may require a fix from Oracle Support
