Writing Examples

Use the pictures to write a sentence, using phonics sounds. Children can choose what they write as long as it is related to the picture.

Here are some ideas for the sentences. However, if you child is finding it tricky, write just a word or the sounds. e.g. big-b.

Sentence 1: I can get into the car.Sentence 2: I see a big truck.

3. Label the parts of the car.

4. Use your senses to write what you can see and feel in space. e.g. I can feel moon dust.

Please feel free to edit and change the sentences accordingly as these are just suggestions.

Remember to use your finger spaces between wordsl

PSHE

Boat Pose requires a lot of abdominal strength and can be tough, for both kids and adults, to hold for a long time. But, if you practice this pose with a transportation song like “Row, row, row your boat”, you may find it actually gets easier.

Aeroplane pose:Aeroplane pose is a full-body transportation pose that builds strength, focus and balance. Try balancing and, if they feel wobbly, to tap their foot down and then try again. As with anything we do, the more we practice the easier it gets. Soon, you may find you are able to balance 5, 10, or even 30 seconds!

Bus pose. This pose strengthens our legs and lengthens our spi which sends lots of freshly oxygenated blood to our brain for clarity and focus!

Hot air balloon pose:Up, up, and away! Board a big, bright, colorful hot air balloon and soar over your hometown. Look over the edge: can you see your house or neighborhood from way up in the sky?

Train pose:Not only do we stretch our whole body in this transportation activity, we also utilize some super yoga breathing. When we make the CH-CH-CH sound, we are learning to control and moderate our breathing as well as exploring rhythm. Let‛s jump on the train…ALL ABOARD!!!

Car pose:To use our bodies to make a car, we combine a wide-legged forward fold with some side stretching. Then we work our core as we press the pedals and roll the windows up and down. Ready…set…go!

Challenge of the week!Sunscreen painting

For this challenge you just need few items and the sun.

- Sunscreen

- Paint Brush

- Bowl or plate

- Black Paper(or other dark colored paper)

Set this up just like a regular painting activity, only instead of paint put sunscreen out. You can squeeze a bit onto a paper plate, into a cup, or on your paint palate.

This activity does need a dark-colored piece of paper to be most effective. If you have black construction paper, use that. But blue, purple, brown, etc all work too. There is a dark piece of paper attached with your pack for this activity.

Use the suncream to paint a picture. Once you have completed your painting take it outside. Place it in the sun, using rocks at the corners to make sure it doesn‛t blow away.

After you have left your painting out to dry in the sun for a few hours, go and check it. You will see that the paper that was covered in the sunscreen ‘paint‛ is the same color it used to be, while the rest of the page has faded! You can pick up the rocks you put in the corners to double-check. They physically blocked the sun and kept the color intact.

If sunscreen can protect the paper that well, how well do you think it can protect your skin?
