4/5/6 – Tuesday.

2011 Swimming Program The Dinjerra Swimming Program will run in 4th term this year. The children will be able to gain fur-

ther confidence in water and learn swimming and survival skills. The children will attend for 9 con-

secutive days from Tuesday 11th October until Friday 21st October. The children will be travelling by

bus everyday to the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre near Highpoint West. Permission notes and the cost-

ing will be going home early term 3.

The Dinjerra Sports Carnival Our Annual Sports Carnival will be taking place in 4th term this year. It’s a day of games and fun com-

petition between our green and gold houses. Children and teachers dress up in their house colours and

parents are invited along to join in the festivities. Our National Bank buddies also attend to help run

events on the day. Last year gold house won by only a few points. Good luck everyone!

Debbie Domas – Health and Physical Education Teacher and Coordinator.

Parents as Volunteers in our Classrooms

Thank you to all those parents who have been generously giving up their

time to volunteer in the classroom. An extra set of hands to help with tasks,

an extra ear, another person to assist and encourage a student and another

role model in our classroom. Both staff and students enjoy and value the

presence and support of our parents volunteering in our classrooms or around

our school.

There are a number of ways that you as parents can volunteer in the school. Perhaps you have a special tal-

ent or skill that you can share and teach. You may like to help with reading, during literacy or numeracy, in

art or PE. You may just wish to be present in your child’s classroom to share in their learning experience.

If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom or around the school please have a chat with your

child’s class teacher or Kathleen.

Yesterday the whole school was involved in a “Jump Off” as part of our participation in Jump Rope for Heart. We have some

amazingly talented skippers!

It’s Not Okay to be Away or Late. Being at school everyday helps to create happy, con-fident and positive children! Just a reminder to all parents that children need to be

at school everyday unless they are ill. Children who

are frequently late or absent from school find it more

difficult to learn routines and have to work hard to

catch up on their learning. Being at school everyday

also helps children to develop good friendship and

have positive experiences with their peers. Please

contact the school or send a note if your child has

been unwell and absent from school.

Have you been to the Ultranet lately to check out what’s new and exciting in your child’s schooling?
