I trust that you enjoyed hearing about your child’s learning and achievements. We have lots of students that will be attending the camp in the last week of this term. Parents as Volunteers in our Classrooms Thank you to all those parents who have been generously giving up their time to volunteer in the class-room. An extra set of hands to help with tasks, an extra ear, another person to assist and encourage a student and another role model in our classroom. Both staff and students enjoy and value the presence and support of our parents volunteering in our classrooms or around our school. There are a number of ways that you as parents can volunteer in the school. Perhaps you have a special talent or skill that you can share and teach. You may like to help with reading, during literacy or nu-meracy, in art or PE. You may just wish to be present in your child’s classroom to share in their learning experience.

Learning through Inquiry Inquiry learning is an active thinking and learning process. Students are problem posers and problem solvers within inquiry

learning.

Our classes have new inquiry topics for the term. I encourage all parents and carers to talk to your child about what they are

learning in class as well as visit the class and speak to the teacher about what the inquiry unit entails.

P/1 : Things constantly change over time and effect the way we live.

Grade 2/3/4/5/6: Around the world amazing events have taken place that have changed human existence.

It’s Not Okay to be Away or Late. Being at school everyday helps to create happy, con-fident and positive children! Just a reminder to all parents that children need to be

at school everyday unless they are ill. Children who

are frequently late or absent from school find it more

difficult to learn routines and have to work hard to

catch up on their learning. Being at school everyday

also helps children to develop good friendship and

have positive experiences with their peers. Please

contact the school or send a note if your child has

been unwell and absent from school.

From now until September 18th 2011, you can

earn one Earn & Learn point for our school

for every $10 you spend at Woolworths

(excluding the purchase of cigarettes, alcohol

and gift cards or purchases made through

Woolworths online or at Caltex Woolworths

co-branded fuel outlets).

Points automatically appear on your shopping

dockets, so all you need to do is bring those

dockets to school (Woolworths have even

given us a special collection box!).

The more points you bring in, the more we

can redeem from a choice of more than 7,000

educational resources including library books,

classroom equipment, art & crafts materials

and much, much more!

many Earn & Learn points as you can!
