Klosters is synonymous with its chalet-style village character. Its charm was discovered by American film stars and the British Royals.

The unique Schlappin, Monbiel and Vereina valleys and the high-alpine region around the Silvretta glacier are within easy reach from Klosters. Klosters has been one of the most family-friendly holiday villages in Switzerland for many years.

HIKING

1514

Over 700 kilometres of marked hiking trails, themed paths and panoramic routes run through fauna-rich forests, across un-forgettable mountain landscapes and through wildly romantic tributary valleys.

Our hiking trails are perfect for leisure ramblers, sporting hi-kers or more ambitious Alpine climbers and mountaineers. The mountains around Davos Klosters, with their countless peaks and valleys, were the source of inspiration for Thomas Mann in his world-famous novel "The Magic Mountain".

WATER SPORTS

1716

For the first time this year, kite-surfers can use lake Davos (at certain times). Wakeboar-ders are also well-catered for.

WakeWeeks will be held on lake Davos from 2 July to 21 August 2016. A 200 metre-long (temporary) water ski lift will be set up to drag wakeboarders along the water. As the speed can be individually adapted, it means that professionals as well as beginners can have fun!

CUlTURE

For over 125 years, the Rhaetian Railway has been synonymous with first-class railway experiences. The famous Bernina and Glacier Express classics pass through the UNESCO World Heri-tage area.

The Wiesen and landwasser Viaducts, both close to Davos, are testament to impressive and pioneering engineering workmanship. The Wiesen Viaduct inspired Ernst ludwig Kirchner in his painting "Bridge near Wiesen" in 1926. The Kirchner Museum of Davos houses the world's largest collection of his works.

From glaciers to palmsChur / Davos / St. Moritz — Tirano — Lugano

The line followed by the Bernina Express is a masterpiece of engineering skills. It runs from the icy heights of the Alps, at over 2200 metres above sea level, down into warmer, sunnier lands at an altitude of just 400 metres. This truly impressive railway, with its world-famous viaducts and spec-tacular curves, blends harmoniously into its grandiose mountain setting – which is why it has been awarded its UNESCO World Heritage accolade!
