hool Hello Spartans,
We are winding down the semester, and gearing up for the 17-18 school year already. As we begin the second semester we ask our 9th through 11th grade students to begin thinking about their courses for next year. It is important that you select a course load you feel will be the best for your goals. Please be sure to review all the courses and information, so we can get everyone appropriately placed. As a school, we are considering moving all study halls to one period, like several other schools in LCPS, and utilizing our resources to even better accommodate the individual needs of our students.
The calendar for next year has been adopted and can be found at https://www.lcps.org.
Reports cards will be available in ParentVue on February 8, 2017.
SincerelyDave Spage

Student directors Marlie Manketo, Sarah Dunn, and Sydney Boucher are members of the DECA organization that have created a project to reach those who affect our lives. DECA is an International organization of marketing students that prepares emerging leaders in marketing, hospitality and tourism, and entrepreneurship around the world!
This year, our DECA chapter is also partnering with the National Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, which also prides itself on making impact through action in local communities. With all this, the girls created Spartans SERVE (Support Others, Embrace Our Strengths, Raise Awareness, Volunteer, and Enact Change). They are very passionate about making a difference in our school, the community, and even around the world.
For the month of January, the students wanted to implement is some kind of appreciation for The Firemen, Firewomen, and Police Officers for our community. For the Ashburn Sheriff’s department, the students created "Goodie bags" for the officers and delivered them to the Ashburn Sheriff Department headquarters. For the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department, the students provided a catered dinner for the entire house [Engine 6].
Way to go....Spartans in Action!!!

DECA student Project Directors Isha Desai, Alexis Potak, and Madison Guyton.....developed a Creative Marketing Project to outreach to the community involving teaching individuals about the various technology applications, software, and websites.
The student chose to provide their program to the residents of Ashby Ponds located here in Ashburn. The students provided a week long training, each evening with a variety of topics. Some of which included YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, and email.
Residents were excited to have the students showing them all the neat and exciting opportunities and particularly, how to use them. Many residents attendees have been asking for a return presentation!
Way to go Spartans!!

Application for Season Passes:
Thank you for purchasing a season pass. The money from your purchase stays at Broad Run and directly supports our athletic program!
WE HAVE EIGHT HOME FOOTBALL GAMES THIS YEAR AND HAVE NOT INCREASED THE COST OF THE SEASON PASS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS (EXCEPT LAST YEAR AS THE PRICE WAS REDUCED BECAUSE OF LESS HOME FOOTBALL GAMES). THIS IS A GREAT DEAL!!!! PLEASE NOTE: THE SEASON PASS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT FIELD HOCKEY GAMES THIS YEAR.
These passes are good for all REGULAR SEASON HOME GAMES ONLY (does not include playoff or tournament games) at Broad Run High School for the School year 2016-2017.
Pass entitles admission for person whose name appears on it. It is non-transferable; any misuse of ticket may cause it to be revoked with no refund. The “NO RE-ENTRY RULE” will be enforced.
If you attend all Broad Run home games this year, you will spend over $400.00 per person on tickets. Season passes can be a tremendous saving to families of athletes involved in multiple sports. Kindergarten and under and 62 and over are free of charge to all games. Simply fill out the order form below, make check payable to Broad Run High School and return to school either by mail or in person to the Athletic Department. If you wish to use a credit card, follow this link to make your purchase: http://cheerssports.com/school-stores/broad-run/spartans-24.html. Passes may also be purchased at any home game. Please provide your email address and phone number in case we need to contact you. Passes will be available for pick up at Broad Run and also at home games. For information, please call the Athletic Department at 571-252-2310.
