Previous Experience From 2013 through 2016, David was the General Counsel of two ridesharing companies vRide, Inc. and Ride Group, Inc. vRide is the nation’s largest commuter vanpool provider and Ride is the premier mobile app for carpooling. David was part of the management team that led vRide to a successful June, 2016 exit. David created the legal function at both vRide and Ride and was responsible to the CEO for all of the day to day legal functions of both companies. From 2007 to 2013, David served as the Assistant General Counsel to Bimbo Bakeries USA, a multi-billion dollar fresh baking and distribution company that owns such brands as Thomas’ English Muffins®, Entenmann’s®, Arnold® and Stroehmann®. At Bimbo, David was responsible for managing the legal affairs of Bimbo’s independent contractor distribution system, responding to and defending employment discrimination claims and lawsuits, all types of contract drafting and negotiation, warehouse and distribution center construction projects, multi-employer pension plan strategy and the various legal needs of the company’s health and welfare and retirement plans. After graduating from law school and business school at Temple University, David joined the law firm of Cozen O’Connor as an associate in its mergers and acquisitions group in 2002. While at Cozen, David worked on all types of bank loans, warehouse financing, private stock issuances, stock sales and asset sales. David also advised clients on general corporate governance matters, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy matters and defended clients in bankruptcy preference litigation.
