Christian Unity Week. Highgate Methodist Church will host the annual service for the week of prayer for Christian Unity on Tuesday 23rd January at 2.30pm. The service will be led by Mrs Pauline Edwards and the collection will be for Inn Churches – an organisation which provides shelter and support for homeless people at The Gathering Place. Please do support this local expression of effort to achieve the unity for which Christ prayed.

Diocesan Refufgee Response One Year On:
The Diocesan Refugee Support group invites
you to an evening event on Wednesday 31st
January 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Hinsley
Hall, Leeds LS6 2BX. Anyone interested in
volunteering to support refugees and asylum
seekers, as well as those who are already
involved, would be most welcome. There
will be an introduction to the Community
Sponsorship scheme, news from key
organisations about the work they do and a
Market Place of stalls to learn about the
range of volunteer opportunities across the
Diocese. A photographic exhibition will be
on display and refreshments will be
provided.

Special Collection. Next Sunday there will be a special collection for the
diocesan Poor Mission Fund which supports small rural
parish communities around the diocese.

Funeral of Moya Geraghty RIP.
Moya was a member of St Columba’s for many years and very active within the SVP, the Ladies’ Group and the prayer group. Her Requiem Mass will take
place in her childhood church of Sacred Heart, Sowerby Bridge on Tuesday 23rd. January at
11.30am.
Peace Sunday.
This weekend we mark the 51st World Peace
Day, a day kept by the universal Church. In his message for World Peace Day Pope
Francis reminds us that we are all artisans for peace. In common with many parishes in
England and Wales we will use bidding prayers prepared for today by Pax Christi.
