With the VDZ Tech Summit, the VDZ Academy has created a new platform to bring together publishing managers,
technology professionals from media houses and internet experts to share ideas, hear about emerging trends, and
discuss new technologies, processes and best practices.
The challenge
The challenge lies in reconciling vastly different worlds: publishing managers have to grasp the possibilities of
technology, while IT specialists have to understand the business demands of the publishing world. The future will
be shaped by those media businesses where those two worlds work together to develop creative concepts and to
program and use tools to reach their targeted goal.
A common understanding
Digital transformation leaves no business area unaffected, so a common understanding of task and solution is
essential. From newsroom to production, from marketing, sales, IT to administration – they all have to share a
common vision.
VDZ Tech Summit offers publishers and media companies the unique opportunity to build this shared
understanding and to deal with the impact of technological innovations on publishing business models.

Hamburg is the city of choice for VDZ‘ annual Tech Summit, now for the fifthyear in a row. The popular city along the Elbe river is a media location with a strong tradition – no other German city records such a high number of relevant and profitable branches of the media industry.
