Principal ’s Report

Uniform update:

Students are reminded that the only jacket that is part of our school uniform is the badged shell jacket.

Over the colder months students have been allowed to wear plain black coats. This is not a jacket style garment but a proper coat which is taken off inside.

As of next year the old green polar fleeces will no longer be accepted as current school uniform. Please do not wear these as of 2020.

Last night we formally said goodbye to our wonderful Year 12’s. Mrs van Lierop gave an entertaining and meaningful talk and the Eildon Boat Club did a great job hosting us. Mrs Rennie and Mrs Dundas did a superb job with the organisation of the evening and setting the venue up to look amazing. We have immense pride in these young people, and although we are sad that we will no longer see them regularly in our hall ways, we are excited for them as they embrace the adult world and chase their dreams. Our graduates will always be part of the Alexandra Secondary College community and we are always here to support them. Any advice they have to help our current students is valued and we look forward to hearing of their successes. It was also sad last night to say goodbye to a number of families who had their youngest child in Year 12 this year . We thank them for their partnership and faith in us.

Our Year 11 students and a number of our Year 10 students have begun their Year 12 subjects for next year with our Head Start program. This early learning and holiday work has huge benefits with managing the workload and pressure of senior subjects next year.

As we approach the biggest holiday of the year, it is important that we make the most of these last few weeks

of learning.
