What is Data Magik

Data Magik is a Tool Build by Techmill to address the key concerns of IT and MIS departments with respect to data extraction and mining.

Why should we select Data Magik

T24 is a world class core banking software product with host of features. Bankers choose this product for key

reasons like security , stability , reliability and flexibility. T24 Flexibility is extremely popular and is achieved

through multi value approach modal. However like all software, T24 is also bound by certain constraints. One

of the key constraints in T24 is data extraction which is mainly due to multivalue approach modal of the

Product.

While current data mining tools available in market come with limitations with respect to flexibility,

operational complications, Performance implications and constraints in T24 environment, The tool developed

by Techmill called Data Magik helps glide over the T24 data modal Maze with ease.

The approach modal of Data Magik addresses the primary concerns of data extraction in Multi value modal

and provides the ability to extract, normalise and convert data with ease . The output can be loaded in to

END TO END AUTOMATION

Data Magik is end to end automated tool once configured the tool requires no manual intervention and takes

care of complete extraction process. The tool has the ability to initiate , monitor and complete the extraction

process. This tool compliments end to end automation of T24 and other applications by acting as intermediate

player. The tool takes care of the requirements from the requesting application and initiates the extraction

from the T24 application and delivers data to the predefined location which can be picked by the requesting

application automatically.

SCHEDULER OF DATA MAGIK

The Built in Scheduler enables scheduling of Intraday, Cob and regular custom extraction. This Automation

feature eases the pressure of MIS team from going through the complex T24 data set up procedures and

improves the turnaround time by 56 %.

BACK DATED CRUD EXTRACTION.

Data Magik provides the ability to extract data from various tables that have been created, replaced, updated or deleted as of certain point or time in the past. The extraction can be adhoc or scheduled with / without overlapping of time slices.

This data on demand feature eases the auditing compliance and data integrity checks. This extraction feature enhances the ability of BI tools to study specific data outliers.

DATA CONVERSION/NORMALIZATION

Data set creation and Normalization are done based on two step approach.

Step 1 takes care of data set extraction based on various conditions set by end user from various T24 sources.

Step 2 Ensures that the data set is dissected to enable normalization and final data output is converted as per specified user requirement like .CSV or specific delimiter embedding in the data sets.

The Multivalue constraint of T24 application which was a disabler for various conversion tools and BI loader is handled effortlessly by this feature of data Magik. It ensures seamless data integration of BI tool and T24 application.

INTELLI GROUP. This Intelligent grouping feature helps data extraction in custom groups i.e. if we need to extract data from modules related to retail banking alone then we can use the Intelli Group feature to group all tables related to the module and extract data in one shot.

CUSTOM EXTRACTION WITH PREDEFINED DATE TIME AND FREQUENCY. With Data Magik we can switch between intraday , COB and other predefined extractions with ease and has the ability to control the frequency of extraction to avoid unwanted load on the application server and Duplicate copies of the data set.

TRACTION THROUGH EXTRACTION LOG. The inbuilt extraction log is exhaustive and tracks details of various aspects of extractions like

Number of extractions done

Number of records in the extracted data set

Date & Time Stamps of extraction

Data selection criteria used for extraction.

Application/requestor’s ID

Also keeps track of reserved fields as per T24 standard.

The log file will helps in monitoring and reporting of extraction activities and provide inputs for automation requirement.

SERVICE BASED APPROACH.

Data Magik is designed on Service based Approach and exploits the muti-threading capability of T24 system to maximum. This enables the tool to integrate seamlessly with T24 application and work with in the performance frame work set by T24 application. This ensures that load impact on T24 application is minimal and turnaround time is minimum.

Cost effectiveness Since Data Magik is an end to end automated tool which eliminates the requirement of dedicated resources for extraction and is ~56% more efficient with respect to turn around time (TAT)
