Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another. ~Author Unknown To Potential Dancers and Parents: I would like to thank you for your interest in the Mitchell High Dance Team! We are so excited to offer this opportunity to both male and female students who share a love of dance art and performing. We are looking for students who specialize in all types of dance genres. The goal of our dance team is to allow students to perform their talents and ignite school spirit. Dancers will perform throughout the winter and fall seasons. They will perform at pep rallies, football games and basketball games. Attached you will find the paperwork that will need to be completed and turned in no later than TUESDAY, AUGUST 20th. PLEASE TURN PAPERWORK INTO COACH HLADIK’S CLASSROOM- 825 OR BRING IT WITH YOU TO AUDITIONS. If you do not have all of your paperwork completed and on file, you will not be permitted to participate in auditions. Please carefully review all of the information included in this packet and feel free to contact us if you have questions. In order to audition, you must have a minimum of a 2.5 G.P.A. (based on your cumulative G.P.A. for the 2012-2013 school year.) All 8th graders coming to Mitchell must have a copy of his/her report card attached to your paper work.

Auditions are CLOSED to the public; there will be no exceptions! Auditions will be held on TUESDAY, AUGUST 20th FROM 3:00 – 5:00 PM AND WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21st FROM 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM IN THE CAFETERIA at Mitchell High School. You must wear appropriate dance attire that suits your genre. Please have your hair pulled back off of your face and NO jewelry. Students that make the team will receive notification via email by August 22nd, Thursday morning.

A general expense sheet for participation on the team is also included in this packet. A more detailed account of expenses will be provided for those who make the team. Please read this packet carefully. It will be required that a Parent or Guardian sign and return the agreement sheet before you will be allowed to participate in tryouts.

DANCE TEAM AUDITIONS

TUESDAY, August 20TH 3:00-5:00PM AND WEDNESDAY, August 21ST 3:00-4:00PM IN THE CAFETERIA!

The following are some examples of acceptable attire: leotard, tights, appropriate dance shoes, fitted tank top, spanks, sports bra. We must be able to see your legs. NO PANTS! FINANCIAL COMMITMENT MANDATORY FEES Upon making the team, all dancers are required to pay the following fees: Dance Attire and supplies: $300 MANDATORY Dance Fundraiser: $200 Additional fundraisers will be offered to offset costs throughout the season.
