Textar Q+ shims have been developed to deliver optimum braking performance in conjunction with high quality brake discs and brake pads.

Manufactured from premium grade cast iron, Textar brake discs are engineered to OE tolerances. And each disc is fi ne-tuned to meet the exact performance and wear characteristics of our matching brake pads - developed and tested in close collaboration with leading automotive manufacturers.

The dampening shim is an essential factor in delivering optimum braking comfort. It prevents direct contact between brake piston and the backing plate during braking – acting to reduce the vibrations and high frequency noise that can result when braking.

SAFETY ASSURED. ECE R90 FOR BRAKE DISCS AND -DRUMS

A further stage of the ECE R90 regulation has come into force 1st November 2016. This sets out quality and performance criteria for brake discs and brake drums in the aftermarket. TMD Friction supports this decision.

Although this regulation affects only products for passenger cars released to the market 1st November onwards, we are also testing our existing product range. These tests have been run for some time and are supervised by the TÜV (German testing authorities). Some of these tests are conducted on our own dynamometers.
