Work This Month:
Over the last month the general contractor has completed their portion of the work associated with the installation of the outdoor odor control unit within the Main Building Process Area. The mechanical, HVAC and electrical contractors are also continuing to make progress in roughing in the plumbing, process piping, HVAC equipment, ductwork, and electrical within the 1st and 2nd floors of the Main Building. This work also included lightning protection, lighting and PLC-100. The masons are continuing to install the exterior brick for the Main Building; they still are working on completing the north wall around the main entrance door and around the exterior stair bracing on the east wall. It was anticipated that the remaining interior and exterior masonry work for the Main Building would be completed by the end of September, but there is still work remaining. Installation of drywall bulkheads and drop ceiling, as well as the acoustic ceiling tile grid and light fixtures, has begun in the Office Area. The painter has continued painting the interior walls of the Main Building 1st and 2nd floor and is continuing to paint the piping within the Process Area and Maintenance Garage. The fire protection contractor has continued installing the sprinkler system within the Main Building. The general contractor has placed the interior stair tower concrete and has started installing door frames in the Main Building.
The general contractor placed the concrete retaining wall on the southwest side of the Digester Operations Building. The masons have completed installation of the interior masonry walls, and have begun installation of the exterior face brick on the north side of the Digester Operations Building. The mechanical contractor has continued installing the process piping within the Digester Operations Building pump room. The roofing contractor has begun installation of the Digester Operations Building roof.
The general contractor and electrical contractor have continued installing the duct banks from the Main Building to the Digester Operations Building. They are approximately 75% complete with this work. The underground contractor has completed the installation of the 36” MLSS line into the new Diversion Structure, and the new slide gate was installed in this structure. The only remaining underground work is the completion of the electrical duct bank, installation of the digested gas line from the Digester Control Room to the flare, and connection of the new MLSS force main from the Intermediate Pump Station to the existing force main. The general contractor has also started the installation of various curbs and sidewalk throughout the site, as well as the retaining wall west of the Main Building.
