an honest-to-goodness design affair
jenny gumbertMuch to many a person’s de-light and dread, a new year also means New Year’s parties. This means plenty of dressing up, eating, and (best of all?) drink-ing. Sure, cocktail parties can be fun, especially if you’re not the host. So many questions arise when you are the one re-sponsible for the whole shindig: What food should I serve? Real tablewares or disposable? What will we drink? It is all, frankly, a pain in the ass. 1. Brass Hors d’Oeuvre Pick Set from Terrain, $38- Keep the toothpicks away and instead invest in an elegant set of reusable picks to serve your ap-petizers with.
2. Roost Golden Berry Champagne Glasses, $98 for set of six- Festively pretty glasses to serve your favorite sparkling wine or champagne in are a defi-nite must.
3. Blanquette de Limoux Brut from The Organic Wine Company, $19.99 - Keep it classic by having at least a few bottles of bubbly on hand for when the clock strikes midnight.
4. Loliware Edible Cups from Susty Party, $180 for pack of 50 - If your guests are going to insist on taking shots, don’t let them dirty up your glasses or fill up your trash with disposable cups. Plus, these taste a lot better than plastic.
