The President's Message
Welcome to the
2015 Warwick Continental
Little League baseball season!
This Opening Day we welcome the
families and friends from both Warwick
Continental and Warwick American
Little Leagues. Although we are
operating as independently chartered
leagues, we will be playing a full
inter-league schedule this season, and
intend to fully merge into one league
in 2016.
Mergers of Little Leagues are an
increasing trend throughout the
country, a result of the competition
from other sports and the decreasing
youth population. Continental has actually had a small increase in players
since 2011. However, in looking to the future, we believe that a merger will
insure a strong, viable league for years to come.
Congratulations to our 2014 11 year-old Rhode Island State Champions.
This year, Continental is proud to host the 12 year-old Rhode Island State
Championships. We hope to see our team competing for the
championship on home turf in July!
I thank all of the volunteers at Continental and American. Please continue
to support our fundraising events, support our sponsors, and volunteer to
help whenever you can. Your involvement is important.
Best of luck to all the players in 2015, and keep in perspective that our goal
is to learn a little baseball and have a lot of fun doing it.

This division will consist of 4 and 5 year olds and some 6 year old players. Both players and coaches will begin learning training skills and drills for improved play. At least one adult per player is required to be present for all practices to monitor and support their children.
This year's Instructional League will be comprised of a Tee Ball division. This division will offer young athletes an introduction to the fundamentals of baseball and sportsmanship. Volunteer coaches, providing the groundwork for successful Little League careers, will teach basic concepts. The coaches ask for parental involvement, both on and off the field, to assist them. Snack bar coverage, field maintenance and on-field coaching assistance are only a few of the areas where parents can help.
Please support your and its activities. Parental involvement is essential for a successful Little League experience. Best wishes to all Instructional League players and their coaches for a safe, fun-filled season.
