A “How to” Guide to using the D3O App:
Tap the D3O App icon on the home screen
“Mould” screen shows. “How D3O works” text box appears
describing our technology. Tap the tick to remove.
“How to interact” text box appears describing how to use the
interactive element of the App. Tap the tick to remove.
The D3O splash screen appears. This screensaver allows the App
to load.
Instructions of how to interact with the interactive element are
available at all times in the top right corner. Tap the arrow to
“hide” the slide bar.
Double-tap the goo to simulate an impact. The goo holds its
shape, the molecules visibly locking together to absorb the impact
before relaxing.
Shake the device to simulate a vibration. The goo again freezes in
place, the molecules visibly locking together to lessen the vibration
before relaxing.
Mould the ball of goo into any shape you like using the multi-touch
feature. Note: The goo also responds to an in-built accelerometer – tilt the device and
the goo will move.
Tapping the “Bounce” button changes the interactive element to a
screen that highlights the energy return properties of D3O.
Watch shock-waves emanate at point of impact, the molecules
visibly locking and relaxing with each bounce.
As with the “mould” screen, instructions are always available in the
top right corner and the user can simulate impacts or vibrations.
Flick the goo around the screen and watch it bounce off surfaces.
Tap the “Materials” tab at the bottom of the screen. This opens a
screen focused on our three grades of material, ST, XT and
SHOCK+
Each grade of material has unique material property data, shown
in the table at the bottom of the screen. Note: Scroll down within this table for more information.
Tap through the grades of material for information specific to each.
Tap a material logo and find graphical data on the right hand side,
showing the performance of D3O materials vs. standard foams. Note: Thickness is shown beneath the x-axis, transmitted force above.
Tap the “Components” tab at the bottom of the screen. This
opens a screen focused on our component ranges.
Tap the drop down menu to reveal each market.
Tap a market to highlight component ranges deemed applicable.
All standard component ranges are shown, with a mannequin on
the right to highlight protected areas. Note: Mannequin is rotatable to show areas of protection from all angles.
Tap on highlighted component range. Protected areas are
highlighted as orange dots.
The second way to access the product information is to tap one of
the orange dots.
Choosing to “view datasheet” brings up the standard product data
sheet for that component range. There is an option to download
the data sheet onto the device in the top right corner.
There are then two ways to access the product information. The
first is to tap the “Show product info” drop down button,
highlighted above the mannequin.
Tap the “Our Partners” tab at the bottom of the screen. This
opens a screen focused on our key partner brands.
The sports button to view sports partners...
And the electronics button to view our exclusive partner and other
secondary partners and distributors.
Partners are split by market. Tap the motorcycle button to view
motorcycle partners...
Tap the “About Us” tab at the bottom of the screen. This opens a
screen focused on us.
The “D3O TV” button shows our corporate video locally, meaning it
can be played without internet access.
This video can be watched full screen, both landscape and
portrait.
The “talk to us” button allows users to contact us, either through
social channels or via an enquiry form . Note: This form goes through to [email protected]
The other video thumbnails link through to our vimeo page. If
tapped, these videos will warn the user that they are leaving the
app in order to play the video via an active internet connection.
Finally, the “Trust Us” button shows our many strategic partners
and how we work with them to ensure all our products and
services are optimised.
