Deliverable Rationale Work Package 3 of the PRO-IDEAL description of work identified the following objectives: - To implement a Web 2.0 platform, the PRO-IDEAL ICT promotion platform, for the

promotion of and access to relevant information on the ICT programme, raising visibility of excellence in the area, provide useful knowledge on " How to…" for all interested in ICT projects

- To support and complement the face-to-face activities of PRO-IDEAL

- To serve as a one-stop-shop for all involved in the ICT programme: Web 2.0 is a free and open concept that lives from its community. The more users there are, the more value it gains. The avoidance of central content feed (just necessary at the beginning to "get going") makes it an ideal tool for sustainable use even after project phase.

Main tasks to achieve these objectives are: Task 3.2 Feed content into the PRO-IDEAL Wiki part (e.g. definitions, programme descriptions, priorities descriptions etc.), provide links for in-depth information (e.g. to CORDIS – specific web pages or respective web pages of involved DGs), and contact and "recruit" contributors to the PRO-IDEAL wiki (persons that have first-hand information on calls, programmes etc. and that want to raise the visibility). (EMF and all). Task 3.3 Feed adapted coaching courses into Blogs tool. The content (text) stems from WP2. It will be fed into the platform by partners INMARK and EMF. Task 3.4 Putting in place of a Showcase of Excellence: ICT projects that can be considered "best practice" involving partners from ICPCs will be displayed to raise visibility of their excellence. Templates allow projects to promote themselves, thus determining how and what they want to display. Where appropriate, links to existing information portals (such as CORDIS or ICT results) will be used. Running projects will be invited to provide information on the PRO-IDEAL website in order to enhance the visibility of their projects' results. (EMF; all partners). These activities have been carried out earlier than foreseen, in order to have a working tool available for the first set of workshops in Latin America that have been held in March/July 2009. The platform has been technically implemented, using the Open Source content management tool DRUPAL. The content to promote the ICT programme has been integrated and is permanently up-dated. The enclosed screenshots of the different pages give an overview of the content so far created. The screenshot of the homepage gives an overview:



Spanish version of quick info and links The navigation bar consists of: Training: Training modules that help to familiarise interested persons with the ICT programme and proposal writing ICT Wiki: An alphabetical Wiki tool that lists the topics of the ICT work programme, explains them in an easy language and links to CORDIS Project ideas: This page provides a questionnaire that allows persons with an idea for an ICT project to fill it in and submit it to the PRO-IDEAL team that assesses the project idea and gives their feedback. Partner search: This section provides a link to the Ideal-ist partner search tool, and provides a questionnaire for partner profiles. These profiles are assessed by the PRO-IDEAL experts and are collected for potential “placement” in a project consortium. Success stories: This section provides visibility to successfully carried out projects with Latin American partners. It is not only a showcase of best practice, but provides also the PRO-IDEAL document on “Success factors for European projects with third-country participation”. Forum: The forum allows for interaction among the PRO-IDEAL community: A general forum gives answers and provides for relevant information, the Project Angel Forum is geared at future Project Angels. Project Angels: This part of the platform is dedicated to future Project Angels and, at the same time, gives information about them. Project Angels follow an on-line course, initiated at the face-to-face meeting in the respective countries, that will allow them to acquire specialist knowledge necessary to understand the ICT programme and to support potential partners to write their respective parts in project proposals. The online course consists of information modules and exercises. Annex 1 and 2 shows screenshots of the respective parts of the PRO-IDEAL platform.
