After the School Slam Series in Geraldton earlier in Term 4, DDHS sent a boys and girls representative team to Perth to compete in the Champions Cup against all the other winning teams from Slam Series around the state. Both teams had mixed results, but it was a very worthwhile experience pitting their skills against some of the other top performing schools.

Four Year 9 students recently flew to Perth with Mrs Flannery to attend the UWA Aspire Camp. The camp is designed to give them a taste of what it would be like to live and study at University.

Harry Calver, Jake Buck, Lachlan Baker and Cameron Murdoch had the opportunity to hear from current UWA students and experience mini-lectures on English, Engineering, Chemistry, Business and Finance. They also took part in a range of fun activities including Kung Fu and Zumba. They also had the chance to meet potential university students from other schools around the Mid-West through group work, a Disco and a visit to Sci-Tec. This was a wonderful opportunity for our students.

Well done to all the Kindy and Pre-Primary students for being Responsible, Respectful and trying to achieve their best when playing in the playground. This fortnights prize winners were all being responsible when playing outside – Norah Goedecke, Lexi Barron, Gabriel Haddow, Izack Smith and Everleigh Craine. Congratulations and well done.

There is a large assortment of lost jewellery, wallets, watches, fitbits, fidget spinners and other items in the front office. If you have lost something this year, come to the office, give a brief description of the item and it will be returned to you. There is also the lost property box outside the canteen full of uniform and clothing items.

Dongara District High School would like to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
