Rodrigo.• Mrs. Reichart earned her school counseling credentials
and will move from a para-professional to a professional school counselor.
• NOHS will add a National College Advisor – Kimberly Hilfrank who graduated from Franklin and Marshall College.
Program Updates
• Act 339 presented to the School Board in early April
• Act 339 sent to the State Department of Education and the local Vocational Technical Center
• First ever “mock” interview program to be introduced fall of 2015
• Consideration of Junior Achievement presentations school year 2015/2016

ELEMENTARY
Students with 95% and 98% attendance each trimester were recognized throughout the school.
* Student's names were displayed on posters in the lobby.
* Names were randomly selected from those achieving 98% attendance and announced over the intercom to come to the office for prizes.The posters and prize drawings helped to raise awareness of the importance of coming to school. We had a lot of nice discussion among parents, teachers and students as a result of these.
* Student interviews were conducted to help us gain their perspective on the importance of attending school.
* Parents of students with excessive absences were offered an “Attendance Improvement Plan." Students were included in the meetings.
* Families were offered incentive plans and strategies to help them eliminate excessive absences.

NOMS Plans to Meet 1% Attendance Improvement Goal 2014-15
HIGH SCHOOL
� Each counselor or para-professional was assigned students off the list of those identified to meet with monthly during block 3 Advisory or lit group (not pulling from classes).
� At that meeting, students received a handout explaining the attendance policy with a place to indicate barriers and goals/solutions.
� On the back of the sheet a table has columns for the date met, grade averages, attendance rate, notes, and parent contact.
� Parents were contacted after meeting with the students....� A contest was held to have students create a logo which
symbolizes how important attendance is. This will be during the 3rd marking period. ( A second planned contest did not run.)
� Local community contacts will be asked to do Public Service Announcements to be shown on the daily announcements.
o Resources to do a billboard may be sought. o Contact will be made with local employers to add messages in
paychecks or break rooms about the importance of school attendance (possibly using the logo developed by students).
� Faculty and staff were informed of the plans.
