News and Notables The wading pool is closed for health and safety reasons, as required by new State of Iowa regulations.

These regulations require water in wading pools to be treated and re-circulated, and protections for accidental drain entrapment to be established. The Board of Directors is diligently researching the necessary retrofits. The resort deeply regrets any inconvenience.

Parking a recreational vehicle, and/or boat/recreational equipment trailer will not be permitted in paved parking lots during peak resort usage - through Labor Day weekend. Double parking, parking facing in the wrong direction, and other miscellaneous no parking situations will also be enforced during peak resort usage. Peak usage has been defined as follows: Weekends beginning 6:00 p.m. each Friday and ending 6:00 p.m. each Sunday. The exception is a recreational vehicle left momentarily for check-in or checkout.

Crafts may involve paint to preserve or enhance the craft. Paint may stain clothing. All children should be dressed appropriately for craft activities. Neither the activities department nor resort is responsible for damaged clothing.

Wheeled recreational devices are not permitted inside buildings, shelter houses, or recreational facilities. Bike riding is not permitted after dark without the use of a headlight and rear reflectors. All other wheeled recreational devices are prohibited after dark. Dark is defined as 1/2 hour after sunset and 1/2 hour before sunrise.

Time schedules for trash collection are published in the resort brochure. Trash should be contained in a securely tied plastic bag of suitable strength. No loose items may be left for collection. Trash may be set outside anytime between 6:00 a.m. and pick up time; trash may not be set out later in the evening. In an effort to reduce the mosquito population, fogging will commence each week on Thursday or Friday during the early morning hours. Please limit your family’s outdoor activity until after 6:30 a.m. Since applications do not eliminate the mosquito population, individuals concerned with personal protection should use an insect repellent with DEET.
