Well done David!Remploy’s OlympicTorch Bearer
Congratulations and thank you
to everyone for helping Enterprise
Businesses (EB) secure the
prestigious Investors in People
Gold Award.
The award places Remploy in the top 1.5% of
organisations across the country assessed by
Investors in People (IiP) alongside leading
companies such as Marks & Spencer,
The Co-op, Diageo, McDonalds and ICI.
IiP assessors praised EB for being a well
managed organisation that had made a
substantial investment in developing people.
They also found good levels of communications
and consultation throughout and a commitment
to learning and development in keeping with the
company’s mission to transform lives through
sustainable employment.
The assessors also recognised the strong
leadership and management roles across the
organisation, and also made comment about
the unique relationship the Company has with
the Trade Union Learning Representatives.
IiP emphasized how working so well together
has proven beneficial learning & development
of employees across the business.
Phil Davies, GMB National Secretary and
Secretary to the Remploy Consortium of Trade
Unions said:
“The Consortium is thrilled that Remploy has
attained the gold standard for Investors in
People. We would like to thank everybody
concerned in gaining this prestigious award,
particularly the Trade Union Learning
Representatives who have received recognition
for the hard work in supporting employees
within Remploy.”
I am sure you agree that achieving IiP at such a
high level is a remarkable achievement and a
reward for the significant effort that has gone
into making Remploy’s Enterprise Businesses a
great place to work.
The clear message to come out of the
assessment is the great sense of pride our
employees have for Remploy and the work they
are doing.
We look forward to receiving the IiP Verifiers
report so we can communicate this message.
Again, many congratulations and thank you to
everyone involved in the Investors in People as-
sessment.
At Remploy we all feel very proud!

International Day of
Disabled People, at our
factory in Neath, South Wales
employees have found an
innovative way of promoting
awareness of disability issues -
and, with the help of one of its
customers, is sending the
message more than 3,000
miles to Africa.
Remploy’s factory celebrated
International Day of Disabled
People with the Remploy
Relay, a fun way of spreading
the message of IDDP with the
theme ‘Aiming High -
Achieving More’.
Remploy released more than
1,000 batons in the run up to
IDDP and asked each
person who received one to
share an inspirational story of
a disabled person, group or
organisation linked to disability,
who achieved more by
aiming high.
Our factory, has achieved that
goal in style thanks to Dawnus
Construction’s help. When
Anthony Coles, Dawnus’ HR
Manager, heard about the
Remploy Relay he had no
hesitation in offering to pass
on the baton and immediately
thought of Sierra Leone.
“In addition to our commercial
contracts in Sierra Leone we
have also been involved in a
community project to rebuild a
school for disadvantaged
children,” said Anthony. “It’s
been an inspirational project to
work on and I couldn’t think of
a better or more appropriate
place for the baton handover to
take place.”
Garfield Morgan, Remploy’s
factory manager at Neath
thanked Dawnus for its
support. “I’m absolutely thrilled
that Dawnus is joining in the
Remploy Relay and that the
baton is going all the way to
Africa. We look forward to
hearing about the baton’s
progress and receiving lots of
inspirational stories about
people who have aimed high
and achieved more.”
