o Establishing a broad committee to explore developing a new interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in Health Studies to serve hundreds of students now interested in those career opportunities;

o Working with the President to expand and strengthen our CARE program, including the Unconquered Scholars program for homeless and foster care students;

o Working with other members of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Management Board to meet the needs of the joint college and its students and faculty;

o Working with Board of Governors staff on numerous issues, including legislative budget requests to serve the needs of the entire State University System’s libraries, distance learning operations, and big data needs;

o Developing celebratory dinner events recognizing faculty accomplishments, including New Faculty, Promotion and Tenure, and Lawton Professorships;

o Hiring excellent new deans for the College of Social Work and the FSU Panama City campus;

o Hiring and supervising first Title IX Coordinator for FSU; and o Co-chairing, with CFO Kyle Clark, the University Strategic Planning Committee, which

began preliminary work in August 2015.

2012-2015 Vice President, Florida State University Office of Faculty Development and Advancement Leadership responsibility for:

• All aspects of faculty work-life at the University, including: o Promotion and Tenure; o Faculty Evaluation; o Faculty Senate; o Faculty Assignments; o Implementation of Collective Bargaining Agreement for Faculty; o Faculty Development, including new faculty orientation; o Faculty Awards and Recognition; o Professional education of deans and chairs; o Orientation for new deans and chairs; o Faculty dispute resolutions; o SACS (Regional Accrediting Agency) reporting on faculty credentials,

competence, governance, academic freedom.

• Member of the University President’s Cabinet.

• Oversight of new curricular program development and approval, and related communication with Florida Board of Governors and other state policy makers.

• Oversight of student academic grievance hearings.

• Constitutionally, third in leadership responsibility for University after President and Provost.

• Continuing oversight of the Ringling Museum and other Sarasota-based programs (see below) until a new Dean of the College of Visual Arts, Theatre & Dance was in place (July, 2013).

Leadership responsibility for:

• Administration of multi-site college with annual operating budgets of $27M and endowed funds of over $40M;

• Approximately 100 faculty and 250 staff;

• 1900 majors in three schools: School of Art and Design (Departments of Art, Art Education, Art History, and Interior Design), School of Dance, and School of Theatre;

• 18 facilities on the Tallahassee campus and surrounding area;

• The Ringling Center for the Arts and Sarasota arts campus, including the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, the Ca’d’Zan House Museum, the Circus Museum, Tibbals Learning Center I & II, Historic Asolo Theatre and John McKay Visitors Pavilion, historic grounds, and multiple restaurants and stores; and the FSU-Asolo Performing Arts Center, housing the FSU-Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, the Asolo Repertory Theatre, and the Sarasota Ballet;
