▪ General: The implementation of a measurement plane for network monitoring was successfully implemented and experimentally verified in real operator network. It is composed by active probes, called mSLAcert probe, that are able to distinguish between line capacity and throughput, a supervisor that is able to manage the whole measurement plane and cooperate with passive probes that monitor the traffic inside the network and a reasoner able to realize PDF certification about the SLA between ISP and client. All this implementation was compliant with the protocol defined in the framework of the EU

FP7 MPLANE project.. Correlation of active and passive measurement was carried out, for purpose on identifying anomalies in the measurements. Such a measurement plane was used for automatic network configuration to improve network performance and this automatic procedure was also successfully implemented for management of energy savings. For anomaly detection, a general algorithm was developed and tested on some cases. ▫ Research on Telecommunication networks, QoS, SLA, TCP, UDP ect. ▫ Definition of parameters and measure of QoS. ▫ Development of measurement probe (mPlane - proxy interface). ▫ Passive and active traffic monitoring. ▫ Cross correlation active and passive traffic measurements to find anomalies in network;
