Research and Original Creative Work
My scholarly activities encompass the areas of psychosocial aspects of disability and counselor training.
My primary research focus is psychosocial aspects of disability, which can be conceptualized into three
interrelated themes: (I) humor and disability; (II) substance abuse and quality of life; and (III) adaptation to
disability group interventions. Across these themes the variables of interest are attitudes toward disability,
coping, and adaptation to disability.
