Iprovidedtwotofourtrainingsessions,eachlasting1hour,to1styearSLPstudentsonthesubjectsofscreeningforhearinglossandtroubleshootinghearingaids.Thetrainingsessionsareofferedatthebeginningofthesemesterandarefollowedbydirecthands‐onclinicaltrainingsessionseveryMondayandWednesdaymorningthroughoutthesemesteratcommunitypre‐schoolsitesthathavebeenpreviouslyarranged(eachsemestertypicallyhasatotalof11‐12MondayandWednesdayscreeningsessions).Everysemester,Icoordinate18‐20studentstoscreenforhearingproblemsatthelocalpreschoolswith4studentsattendingeachof3to4screeningsessions.Eachscreeningsessionisintendedtolastfrom2.5to3hoursateachpreschoolsite.Thetrainingandassessmentfortroubleshootingofhearingaidsisprovidedatoneoftheon‐campustrainingsessions,eitheratthestartorendofthesemester.

CollectionofelectrophysiologicresponsesfromchildrendiagnosedwithamblyaudiabeforeandaftertreatmentwithARIA.Thepurposeofthisstudy(supportedbyfundingfromthePALionsHearingResearchFoundation)istodetermineifthereareauditoryneurophysiologicmarkersforamblyaudiathatresolvetonormalfollowingsuccessfulrehabilitativetreatmentwithARIA.
4. ContinuedcollaborationwithDr.VincentSchmithorstatChildren’sHospitalofPittsburghonthecollectionandanalysisoffMRIdatafromchildrendiagnosedwithamblyaudiabeforeandaftertreatment.fMRIdatawillalsobecollectedfromnormalcontrolstocomparetoresultsobtainedfromchildrenwithamblyaudia.
