New Course Proposal – First Read (recommended for approval for tech review)

ADJUS-126 Leadership and Ethics - No one present from the department, not moved forward. ADJUS-281 Community Policing and Problem Solving - No one present from the department, not moved forward. KNACT-166B Intermediate Tennis Jackie Ponciano-Babb presented this 2nd course in a series which focuses on more advanced tennis skills. Course will go into degrees as an activity option and as a pair to the GE course (not yet approved). It was MSC, with no objections and by all present to approve KNACT-166B to move forward to tech review MUSIC-129 Counterpoint I Nick Vasallo introduced MUSIC-129 as the course in writing melodies and as a transfer requirement. Course will go into the new MUSX degree when available. It was MSC, with no objections and by all present to approve MUSIC-129 to move forward to tech review. POLSC-122 Latinx Politics and American Government Albert Ponce presented POLSC-122 as an option to POLSC-121. It was MSC, with no

objections and by all present to approve POLSC-122 to move forward to tech review.

8. Discussion Item/Possible Action:

New Course Deadline - 2018

The committee discussed and agreed that the 2nd to last Friday of each year would work

for a new course deadline. For 2018 the deadline will be October 19 at 5:00 p.m. It was

MSC, with no objections, to move the new course deadline to the 2nd to last Friday of

October.

Tech Review Deadline Draft –

Agostino provided the tech review deadlines and it was suggested with the late SP18

start date, the deadlines be pushed back one week. The draft will be revised and sent

out again.
