Major Research Interests:
Field Researc Studies in Acoustic Behavior.
Neurotransmission in the brain of experimental animals, via studying the quantitative analysis and metabolism of neurotransmitters, especially amino acids, in relation to a variety psychotropic drugs and physical factors.
Preparation and establishing animal models, like reserpine-model of depression and pilocarpine-model of epilepsy in adult and developing animals.
Micro-neurochemical analysis via different chromatographic techniques, including paper, thin-layer and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Implantation of electrodes and cannulas in animal brain for freely-moving animal experimentation.
Recording, analysis, and interpretation of brain electrical signals (electroencephalogram; EEG).
Recording, analysis, and interpretation of acoustic (and speech) signals in vocalizing animals and human subjects.
Evaluation of some drugs affecting the central nervous system, and studying its mechanism of action in view of changes in the behavior in neurotransmitters.
Research and Development (R & D) in the area of “Novel Drug Discovery”.

Co-Principal Investigator (CoPI) of the project (2002-2004) entitled “A study on the influence of mobile phone radiation on some functions of central nervous system". The first proposal has been approved and granted by the "International Cooperation Sector with USA", Foreign Ministry, Egypt, Grant No. 2110/2002.
Leadership of a multidiscipline (a teamwork of thirty scientists and researchers are involved) and long term (1989-1999) project upon “New Approach in Novel Drug Discovery”, sponsored by one of pioneer Inc. in the field of drug discovery from natural sources.

Several lectures and round-table discussions related to numerous cultural issues, held at different meeting rooms and stadiums at Cairo University Staff Club “CUS-Club”, as well as at the Egyptian Universities, NGOs and Syndicates.
Membership of “International EMF Scientist Appeal”, an International Scientist Appeal to the U.N. and the WHO. The Appeal had escalated up to 221 Worldwide Scientists, up to August, 2016. They are studying mainly the biological and health effects of non-ionizing Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF).
Member of the Board of Directors and the General Secretary of the “Cairo University Staff Club” (2003 – 2009).
Coordinator and designing a “Follow up working- sheet” for academic activities of Staff
Members (2008-2009), through the preparatory phase before achieving the Quality
