CEN/TC 10New standardization request (M/549) for lifts

• Harmonized European standards are developed based on a standardization request (mandate) from the European Commission

• Due to the recast Lifts Directive (2014/33/EU) and the new EU Regulation 1025/2012 on European standardization, EU Commission has issued a new mandate for lifts

• The new mandate requires review/revise all harmonised standards to – Ensure the suitability of the standards for supporting the EU internal market– Update the Annex ZA of all standards using the new template

• The new mandate adopted on September 21st 2016

• Identical adoption of EN 81-20/50 as ISO 8100-1/2– Regional difference, i.e. A17.1 and BSLJ, are listed in ISO/TS 8100-3

• CEN to adopt ISO 8100-1/2 as EN ISO standards

• ISO and CEN cooperate closely in revision of (EN) ISO 8100-1/2– To maintain ISO & EN standards as identical in the future

• (EN) ISO 8100-1/2 to be revised/amended regularly– Regional differences are reduced and ISO/TS 8100-3 updated accordingly

• Roadmap has 3 specific phases (steps)
