6th ANNUAL 2008 CELEBRATION OF WOMENSUMMARYSUMMARY

Conference kicked off with the participants completing registration forms while listening to the Theme Song:  Superwomen by Alicia Keys.

Four Women under the choreography of Mr. Stephen Reynolds gave a powerful g p y p y g pdance performance of Nina Simone’s song Four Women.

John O’Neal, actor/playwright and artistic director of the New Orleans's‐based Junebug Productions, the feature speaker captivated the audience with his ltales.

The movie Beach Richardson – A Black Women Speaks was shown during lunch.

The keynote speaker Jacqueline  Ann Sawyer, Ph.D. visiting professor from the New York City school system facilitated the daily activities that included local entrepreneurs, community advocates, mothers, writers and other women from diverse professionsdiverse professions.

There were six breakout sessions; each session had 25 participants and the conference was attended by 225 participants, ranging from the age of 15 – 83+.  The highest count ranged in age from 40 – 69.g g g 4 9
