Remember Trash Free Tuesday is on every Tuesday at CVPS. We encourage students to bring a waste free lunch box to reduce

the amount of waste in our school.

School garden community Cudgee's Garden Club volunteers have had a boost in numbers recently with not one but seven new helpers joining in the weekly lunchtime session! Here’s Pat with granddaughter Willow, and Carol who’s actually Nikola’s GREAT grandma! Gardening at school is fun, makes the school more beautiful, and helps our kids learn how to grow food. These things simply don't happen without the energy of our school community and we would like to extend a huge thank you to both our long-term and new volunteers. School Garden Stall This Thursday we are harvesting what's ready in the garden. Any surplus not used in cooking / taken home by the kids will be placed on a table in the COLA at pick-up time for a coin donation. Beetroot, garlic spring onion, cabbages, Dill flowers – all organically grown! Stay in touch - [email protected]

Roger Wotton/Kevin Pye Public Speaking Competition Last Tuesday, six students from CVPS participated in the Roger Wotton/Kevin Pye Public Speaking Competition which was held at Mudgee Public School. Representing Stage 2 were Dusty May, Bessie Nicholson and Ella Edwards and Stage 3 were Rachel Channon, Bobby Pascoe and Ruby Pepper. The students delivered a speech on a topic of their choice and, as a result, the audience was highly entertained by a wide range of interesting topics! All our students spoke confidently and should be congratulated on their efforts. A very special congratulations to Rachel Channon who won the senior section with her humorous speech entitled "Holiday Highlights". The adjudicator was very impressed with Rachel's delivery! Well done to all our speakers- I was extremely proud of each and every one of you! Mrs O'Connell

Please return all Library books Thank you to all the students who have enjoyed reading and borrowing books from the Library during the year. As it is nearly the end of term, we need all students to promptly return their books to the Library. Library overdue notices have been sent home with students. If you are unable to find a lost book, please pay the amount so it can be replaced or purchase another book for the Library to the same value. Our Librarian, Liz Shady is happy to assist with any enquiries.

Debating Workshop Stage 3 students, who have been participating in the CVPS debating workshops, enjoyed a combined whole day workshop with students from Mudgee Public School. Through a variety of activities, the students developed their understanding of the roles of the various speakers and practised how to plan, organise and write a debate with an emphasis on delivering rebuttals.
