Dear Friends and Family,

My Purpose for WritingACTION International has invited me to become part of a multi-national team to Cuba that will present two Christian Youth Leadership Camps and a National Pastor’s Conference! Currently, ACTION International is the only foreign organization that the Communist government of Cuba allows to hold conferences for the National Pastors Association. I will be in Cuba throughout the month of April, interacting with campers and providing assistance for these events. I will also have opportunity to live with a local Christian family, participating in their life and church community, and better understanding the challenge of being a Christian in Cuba.

A Personal Update!Last spring I graduated from an Associate

Degree program and am currently taking a class as I move towards finishing my Bachelor’s degree. I work as a Certified Ski Instructor at 49° North Mountain Resort. I look forward to increasing my Spanish language skills while in Cuba. I am excited to see how God will use the

skills He has given me to minister while I am there. I look forward to what He will do in my heart and in the hearts of those I interact with.

A Quick Roster of Events-Havana-

•Support to Churches- The team will meet with local congregations around Havana, providing support and encouragement.

•Regional Pastor’s Conference- 250 regional pastors of the National Pastor’s Association. (cost- $3,000.)

•National Discipleship Camp- 500 college-aged Church leaders. This five day semi-annual event is the largest event ACTION Cuba hosts and is composed of leaders from all over the Island who have been chosen by their churches to attend. (cost- $18.00 per person, total- $9,000.)

•Regional Planning meetings- with 60 Christian leaders.

CUBA- Empowering the Persecuted Church in Cuba

-Bayamo-•Discipleship Camp- 200 local Christian youth

from various churches. (cost- $2,000.)•Local Ministry- Bayamo will become my

home for about two weeks while I live with a Christian family.

Specific activities for my time in Bayamo are not yet clear, but I will be ready to work wherever I have opportunity, sharing in the life of my host family and working in local Christian ministries and churches.

Support OpportunitiesACTION Cuba has been providing Christian training, materials, conferences and support to over 20 evangelical church denominations for 10 years. The ministry of ACTION Cuba meets a significant need within the Church in Cuba. The financial and social challenges experienced by Christian leaders in Cuba are profound; ACTION Cuba team members will defray the cost for Cubans attending these conferences.

I am confident that God has opened this ministry opportunity for me, and will provide the funds for me to serve and help ease the financial burden of those attending these camps and conferences.
