Together with the City’s greatest culturalinstitutions, we are staging a uniqueprogramme of events. This year, in which we celebrate HM DiamondJubilee and the London 2012 Olympic andParalympic Games – welcoming thousandsmore visitors to our City and nation –we haveworked hard to ensure that the majority ofevents are free so that everyone can enjoy thefun. See Tchaikovsky performed in the open airCelebrate the City starts with a bang onmidsummer day with a free, open-airperformance of Tchaikovsky’s thunderous1812 Overture (see p24), performed bythe Guildhall School in the historicGuildhall Yard (6-7pm). To get thecrowd warmed up, Music in Officeschoirs will be taking to the stage, withfree themed walks leaving after theevent (7.30pm – see p33).

Watch the sunset from Tower BridgeWhere better to enjoy the London sunsetthan from the high-level walkways of the world-famous Tower Bridge with a glass ofchampagne in hand? Friday’s freeSundowner (6.30pm – see p29) is the perfect end to your action packed day exploring the City.
