Principally Speaking,…We want to thank everyone for supporting us

with the implementation of student ID badges. This is a district wide securi-ty measure. As with all new initiatives, there are growing pains and we contin-ue to problem solve with our district office. Here are some recent updates:

Lanyards w/badges will be taken off for physical activities like TLPE, re-cess, PE, Ext. Day, etc.

Students going to Ext. Day, car riders, walkers or bike riders – will put lanyards/ badges into back packs when leaving the classroom.

Bus riders need their badges on the bus.

Personal lanyards – Schools will be receiving information to order 3-way breakaway lanyards. We will be able to pick our own colors, designs and lengths. When this happens, personal lanyards will no longer be permitted.

First replacement badge is free and $5 afterwards. Badge holder and lanyard replacements are currently free but may change when we order specialized lanyards for our school. (We will let you know when this hap-pens.)

We are excited about our new digital marquee and are currently waiting for instructions on how to program our own messages. Thank you to all of our CLE families and especially PTA for fundraising and donating funds to make this happen.

The Martin County School District Teacher of the Year Celebration is Fri-day, November 8. All of the schools in our district selected teachers who were interviewed and videoed as part of their application process to be se-lected for the county wide honor. This person will then compete at the state level. Good luck to our Teacher of the Year, Andraya Coyle, 5th grade.

Just a reminder that Martin County School District will be closed the week of Thanksgiving (Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29) as long as we do not have any more storms. (Hurricane season ends November 30.) School will resume on Monday, December 2. Check Extended Day infor-mation on the next page for hours/days of operation for the week.

If you are traveling for the holiday we wish you safe travels. Remember seatbelts are mandatory. Also, please do not text and drive. You are carrying

precious cargo. Choose kindness every day!
