PROJECT EVALUATION

A high quality local authority development, designed with sustainable living in mind which will offer real ongoing benefits to the tenants.

K-Panels were able to work alongside the contractor to ensure minimal disruption to close neighbouring properties and engage local media and residents in the build.

Our online project management portal provided fast communication and transparent planning of the delivery and construction schedule enabling all operatives and site staff to work efficiently completing the site in under 3 weeks from sole plate to completion.

KEY STATISTICS

• Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5 minimum, level 6 achievable

• Approx £875,000 overall contract value

• Positive features in local media and built in a regeneration area of Gainsborough

• Efficient, on programme completion

• K-Panels provided cost saving design details

• Fabric first approach with renewable technologies

PROJECT SOLUTION

Due to the very restricted site access issues, K-Panels provided a carefully planned delivery schedule to ensure just in time deliveries for each section of the build.

The sustainability demands meant that site waste allowances are minimal and as such the offsite manufacture of the TEK panels ensured a virtually waste free construction process.

The build will be the subject of a study on how fabric first building can reduce energy consumption in our homes, the thermal and air tight nature of the TEK building system provides the ideal building envelope for sustainable, affordable building.

A carefully planned build and lifting schedule enabled K-Panels to complete the entire build from sole plate to practical completion inside a 3 week time period using a team of only 4 K-Panels installers.
