Traffic
Base Traffic Data
• Longwood Drive - Calculated from traffic survey data collected in June 2016
• Coryton Gyratory / Longwood Drive Traffic Signals - Calculated from traffic data provided by Traffic Wales in
October 2016
Future Growth Assumptions
• Background traffic growth uses TEMPRO Growth Factors (accepted industry standard database produced by
DfT)
• Used highest growth factor from relevant data sets
Methodology for our Base Traffic Assessment and future growth assumptions (peak periods)
TEMPRO Output Area
Base traffic data
• Calculated from Velindre activity data 2016
• Staff Travel to Work Survey
Future Growth Assumptions
• Future Years traffic growth for the Cancer Centre is based on the predicted growth figures for Staff and
Patients
• Figures show a growth of approximately 15% by 2032
Methodology for new Velindre Cancer Centre Traffic
Traffic on Park Road, Pendwyallt Road and Velindre Road directly from Velindre Cancer Centre is forecast to reduce by 60 – 70%
