On the auspicious occasion of Niila kanth Divas on 12 the February 2014, a

wonderful program was organized by AMURT at Pundag Railway station where 50

blankets were distributed to poor people and drinking water booth was declared

opened with germinated Bengal gram and sweets for the incoming and outgoing

passengers of Pundag Railway Station.

It was declared opened by cutting the ribbon by Shaktidhar Mahato, Trinmul

Congress leader of Purulia. Before the program started one hour Dharma chakra was

held where all the workers of Anandanagar including R M Anandanagar and

Ac. Svarupananda Avadhuta took part in distribution of blankets and Germinated

Bengal gram and sweet distribution. The speakers appreciated the service renders

to the people 52 villages around Anandanagar by AMURT.

Acarya Diiptimanananda Avadhuta and Acarya Dayashiilananda Avadhuta have beendoing pracar in Ottawa city since November last year. Recently, Ananda Marga Yoga andMeditation Clubs were registered in Carleton University and University of Ottawa andclasses have started in both universities. There is good response from the students andmany of them are interested in learning personal meditation. Five brothers have alreadyreceived initiation and are in regular contact with Ananda Marga. The clubs are a goodplatform for pracar and give chance for having information tables on campus, organisinglectures, classes and other events.

Lefse is a thin Norwegian flat potato bread made on a griddle and rolled upwith a variety of salty or sweet toppings. It's smaller cousin is called lompe,like a round or oval chapati, being served like a wrap with savory salty foods.It can be considered a universally nourishing national food symbol. Madefrom special oval potatoes called mandelpotet (a Scandinavian artisan potatothat looks like a big almond) and flour, it is handled and looks a lot like aflour tortilla. It is made the old-fashioned way, by hand, from peeling torolling. To get the most authentic texture, the potatoes should be put througha potato press called a ricer, rather than being simply mashed. The potatoesare best made the night before and refrigerated. Lefse is a grocery store itemin American and Canadian Scandinavian communities.
