MGT579: CAPSTONE - MANAGEMENT Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours: This is a 3-credit course, offered in accelerated format. This means that 16 weeks of material is covered in 8 weeks. C OURSE D ESCRIPTION AND O UTCOMES Course Description: This course provides students with the opportunity to integrate and synthesize their learning from core management courses, such as MGT576. Students analyze selected case studies to demonstrate critical thinking abilities and skills needed to be effective decision makers using both quantitative and qualitative data. Students analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and make recommendations for sustainable success in today’s global workplace. Through the course activities, students demonstrate their knowledge and skills in how to lead organizations through complex changes in a global society. Course Overview: As the culminating course in your master’s degree program, this Capstone course provides an opportunity to integrate and synthesize what you have learned in core management courses such as MGT576. Each week of the course focuses on a specific aspect of management covered in the program. You will analyze case studies that directly relate to program outcomes, articulating best practices needed to be an effective manager in today’s global workplace. You will critically examine several case studies in leadership and management to better understand employee behaviors and what motivates employees to maximize performance and boost morale. As you examine the cases critically, you will be able to identify and summarize the predominant qualities of effective leadership, assess your own leadership skills, and create leadership development goals that can help guide you in your future pursuits. Additionally, for the final project due in Week 8, you will work in teams throughout the course. Teams will be assigned at the end of Week 1 or the start of Week 2. Course Learning Outcomes: 1. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OUTCOMES

Course Description: This course provides students with the opportunity to integrate and synthesize their learning from core management courses, such as MGT576. Students analyze selected case studies to demonstrate critical thinking abilities and skills needed to be effective decision makers using both quantitative and qualitative data. Students analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and make recommendations for sustainable success in today’s global workplace. Through the course activities, students demonstrate their knowledge and skills in how to lead organizations through complex changes in a global society.

Course Overview: As the culminating course in your master’s degree program, this Capstone course provides an opportunity to integrate and synthesize what you have learned in core management courses such as MGT576. Each week of the course focuses on a specific aspect of management covered in the program. You will analyze case studies that directly relate to program outcomes, articulating best practices needed to be an effective manager in today’s global workplace. You will critically examine several case studies in leadership and management to better understand employee behaviors and what motivates employees to maximize performance and boost morale.
