PROBLEM RECOGNITION

The present waste management system of Indian railways is a disaster.

As a frequent traveller in train, they found in many trains of our India, without the differentiation south,north,east or west, all trains are running without proper cleanliness of compartments except the same of Air conditioned or First Class ones.

Trains are mostly used by general public than any other mode of transport, the cleanliness of compartments are to be taken with much care.

Passengers are forced to throw the waste on both sides of the railway track while travelling and even on the railway track.

And throw their waste in the compartment.

CONT… They throw remain food materials in basins and near

toilets. We have noticed a new trend in Indian Railways. In

the garb of optimum utilization of rakes they are clubbing two or three service of train in one and thereby giving little time for maintenance and cleanliness.

Finds largest garbage stacks beyond the Indian railways track.

No respect of forest and crop field by Indian Railways. Throwing of the wastes from the running train gives a

very bad impact on the tourists. The non bio degradable wastes like plastics gets

decomposed on the soil thereby polluting the environment.

IDEA GENERATION

Easy to use dustbin. No need to mess up your Hands. Dustbin provided in every compartment Compartments are hygienic. Environmental health protection is essential

for life and solution for this problem is of low cost.

Good looking and non embarrassing to the station authorities.

There is great need of awareness in people.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION A slider dustbin will be provided in every compartment, in

the space between the seats with two sides lid. But the main container will be below the base floor/surface

of the train which will be in stepper design. Cover will be designed in such a manner that the lid will be

open in a slider system. That means people are not need to open the lid by their

hand, they can do it by their leg and throw the waste. There will be a box below the slider in which all the waste

will be stored. The bin will have a opening from outside the train also to

make it easy for the dustbin cleaners to clean it So that there will be no foul smell coming out of the

dustbin. This dustbin will be cleaned at the end destination of

every train.

In short, using a slider dustbin is a responsible and proper decision that will benefit the whole environment.

SUGGESTION

All vendors who sell food on trains should use eco friendly material.

There should be a message sticker on every window.

Use Slogans. Install Dustbins in every compartment and

arrange for the railway staff to empty them every 6 hours of journey time.

Make your environment healthy and be healthy.

Use metal net on each window to avoid the waste thrown out.
