In a recent 2010 study, CEOs of major corporations identified creativity as the most important skill for successfully navigating our increasingly complex world – see the IBM categories in the blue box and circles to the right. Creativity Garden, funded in 2015-2016 by Disney, provided creativity-enhancing experiences to more than 75,000 children and youth (aged 6 to 14) through nearly a quarter of a million hours of programming, focused on reaching traditionally underserved populations. The 87 minigrants were distributed to a wide range of ASTC-member institutions in both urban and rural settings covering 38 states, including Puerto Rico. The museums varied in size with 24% representing very small institutions (less than $1million Annual Operating Income (AOI)), 25% small ($1 to 3million AOI), 39% medium ($3 to 10million AOI), and 13% large (greater than $10million AOI).
