DISCOVERY CAMP 3-5 YEAR OLDS CREATING MEMORIES & BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS

Discovery camp is an exciting, safe community for 3-5 year olds to explore the outdoors, begin to build self esteem, start to develop interpersonal skills and make friends. This nurturing environment offers the children the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop social skills. Campers will also enjoy swimming as well as age appropriate field trips.

Fun Lunch 4 U!! The Campanelli Y Day Camp is offering lunch for your child(ren)

on select Thursdays and Fridays during Summer Camp. For an ad-ditional fee of $5.50 your camper(s) have the opportunity to have a pre-packaged lunch served at our day camp site. See the Parent

Handbook for fees and lunch selections.**Lunches must be pre—paid, and the Y reserves the right to dis-

continue the fun lunch option.

Welcome all athletes! Whether you are an experienced athlete or just a beginner the Hall of Fame Camp motto is everyone plays, everyone wins! We will provide a variety of sports and will also concentrate on the fundamentals of select sports for certain weeks. Good sportsmanship and team work are always part of the curriculum.

Rookies: Grades entering 1st-entering 3rd Veterans: Grades entering 4th-entering 6th

SPECIALTY CAMPSCREATING MEMORIES & BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS

DANCE CAMP Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm Grades: Entering 3rd-Entering 7th Come and join us for a one week of Dance camp where you will learn new dance techniques! We will start with practicing steps across the floor to get confident with the movements, and later we will combine everything we have learned into a fun dance. Your friends and family will be amazed at how much you learned in just one week. Be ready to stretch, jump, and use lots of energy! We are going to have a blast! Week 3 only (June 17-June 21) Camp Participant: $40.00 Member/Program Member: $80.00

TRAILBLAZERS Time: 9:00am-11:00am Grades: Entering 3rd-Entering 7th Join us as we explore the newly made trails at the Y. We will learn about safety techniques such as what to do if you become lost, how to use a compass, read a map, how to make a shelter, what types of plants to avoid and which ones we can actually eat to help us survive. Do you have what it takes to survive in the woods? Week 4 only (June 24th-June 28th) Camp Participant: $40.00 Member/Program Member: $80.00

CREATIVITY CAMP Time: 9:00am-11:00am Grades: Entering 2nd-Entering 6th Let’s get creative and have fun! We will make a variety of arts and crafts using several different art mediums. If you like to be creative this is the camp for you. Come join us and express your own creativity through art. Week 6 only (July 8th-July 12th) Camp Participant: $60.00 Member/Program Member: $120.00

CENTER STAGE Time: 9:00am-12:00pm Grades: Entering 2nd-Entering 6th Do you like to be the center of attention? Have you always wanted to be in the spotlight? Then Center Stage is the camp for you. Campers will actively participate in deciding what play they would like to put on. They will create their own sets, make costumes and finally put on their play for all to see! Weeks 7 & 8 (July 15-July 26th) Camp Participant: $65.00 Member/Program Member: $130.00

CHAMPIONS SPORTS PERFORMANCE CAMP SERIES* Time: 9:00am-12:00pm Champions Camp Series will consist of four different sports; each sport is one week, involving extensive training focused on mastering fundamentals, learning advanced skills, conditioning and preparation for competitive sports. The YMCA’s sports coordinator, teamed up with skilled counselors for their respective

sports, leads each camp. Champion’s camps are for 4th–8th graders and a limit of 30 players per week. GUARD/POST PLAYER BASKETBALL CAMP – RUN BY WORLD CLASS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION Time: 10:00am-12:00pm Your son and/or daughter are invited to the World Class Basketball Association 2013 Guard/Post Player Basketball Camp to be held at the Campanelli YMCA in Schaumburg. Campanelli YMCA is an air-conditioned facility with two . This camp will concentrate specifically on guard and post player skills. In addition to the basic fundamentals of playing each position, we will also get into advanced and high intensity workouts to become a better player. The camp will be coached by the World Class Basketball Association Coaching Staff as well as local high school coaches. We will also have a special guest at the camp. Space is limited so register early! Mon - Fri July 22-26 Fee: $100

BASKETBALL SHOOTING CAMP – RUN BY WORLD CLASS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION Time: 10:00am-12:00pm Your son and/or daughter are invited to the World Class Basketball Association 2013 Basketball Shooting Camp to be held at the Campanelli YMCA in Schaumburg. Campanelli YMCA is an air-conditioned facility with two . This camp will concentrate specifically on every shooting the basketball. In addition to the basic fundamentals of shooting, we will also get into shooting off the dribble, finishing moves and high intensity shooting. The camp will be coached by the World Class Basketball Association Coaching Staff as well as local high school coaches. We will also have a special guest at the camp. FULL DAY CAMPSSPLISH SPLASH ADVENTURE CAMP Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Location: Campanelli Y (for pick up and drop off) Splish Splash Adventure camp will take campers to various water parks, pools and beaches throughout the area. Everyday is a field trip day with this camp. This camp will meet every morning at the Campanelli Y before departing on our adventure. Automatic Payment Form (EFT/CAD)

The Alfred Campanelli YMCA offers two different types of automatic payment plans called Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Charge Account Draft (CAD). Both plans are very easy to use and are available to everyone.

Your signature will confirm that you’ve read and understand the following:

• I understand that my childcare payment will be automatically withdrawn from my checking account or charged on my credit card on a weekly basis according to the schedule provided. We bill two weeks ahead.

• I understand that I must provide two weeks written notice before my automatic payment can be cancelled or changed.

• I understand that the YMCA automatic payment plans are continuous and will remain in effect until I cancel or change my payment preference in writing or until a program ends.

• I understand that the Alfred Campanelli YMCA may, at their discretion, adjust the monthly rate associated with my childcare, provided they announce any rate change 30-days in advance.

• I understand that I am responsible for making funds available for each and every payment while I am enrolled as a YMCA member. I also understand that I will incur a $20.00 service charge fee any payment declined by my bank or credit card provider.

PATHFINDERS Grades 1 - 2 Pathfinders will enjoy traditional camp activities such as arts & crafts, nature projects, games, field trips, swimming and sports. Activities are age appropriate and meet the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of younger campers. Our goal is to provide each child with an experience that will leave them wanting to come back to camp year after year.

VOYAGERS Grades 3 - 4 Voyagers will enjoy a variety of activities that are challenging and fun. Campers will engage in team work activities and will be encouraged to express their individual creativity through many activities during the day. Our goal in this age level is to provide each child with the experiences that will help them grow individually in order to work well with others in life.

NAVIGATORS Grades 5 - 6 Navigators are our pre-teen campers, and will be leading many of their group’s activities. Navigators will focus on being a good role model for the younger campers through weekly interactions. This age level will begin the process of deciding activities such as sports, or crafts, that they will be engaged in during their camp day. Our main goal in this age level is to provide activities and experiences that are relevant and challenging for these pre-teens.

TEEN CAMP Grades 7 - 9 Teen Leaders Camp is designed for junior high students to engage in a variety of teambuilding and leadership activities. Teen Leaders Camp structure includes four key components: social responsibility, peer mentoring, leadership and teamwork. In addition to swimming and weekly field trips, Teen Leaders will participate in several service learning projects to reach out and make a difference in the lives of others.

CAMP EXTREME Grades: 4th - 6th Location: To be Determined Get messy and have fun! This camp keeps children on the GO. Their day is filled with crazy competitions and fun activities that relate to the theme for the week. From crazy hair days to water fights and mix & match days and more, Camp Extreme is designed for the older, active campers.

Y CAMP Grades: K – 3rd Location: To be Determined This camp offers children an introduction to day camp through a wide range of traditional camp activities. Camp activities include; camp crafts, cooking, group games, skits and more!

EXPLORERS CAMP Grades: 3rd – 5th This new camp will be held at the Cook County Forest Preserve, Barrington Road Pond Area. This is camp the “Old School” way! Activities will include; Outdoor Living Skills, Geochache, camp crafts and games. In the event of sever weather campers will be transported to one of our School Locations and parents will be notified.

CAMP CLAS (COMMUNITY, LEADERSHIP, ADVENTURE AND SERVICE) Time: (8:30 am - 4:30 pm) Grades: 6th – 8th Location: Campanelli YMCA This new camp will prepare junior high age students to make a difference in their lives as well as other. They will gain leadership skills through hands on experience working with younger campers at the KASPER Camp sites (Camp Extreme and Y Camp?), learn about their leadership style and participate in team building activities. These young leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a service learning project impacting the community and the Y.

Time: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm Free Extended Care Hours Available – 7:00 am – 9:00 am & 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Grades: Entering K - 6th KASPER Camps are conveniently located in the schools throughout the community. KASPER Camps are curriculum and enrichment based, providing wide range of activities. Campers swim three times a week (twice at the Y and once at Atcher Island or Seafari Springs) and go on field trips once a week.
