Create a Gmail AccountStep-by-Step

Sign up for a Gmail email account athttps://accounts.google.com/signup
• Type in first and last name
• Available Usernames will appear. Select one or keep trying one of your own.
• Select password – 8 or more characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
• Click next
• If you list an optional cell phone or email, the system will initiate a two-factor authentication and will send a code to the phone or email address to confirm your identity. Best to leave the fields blank.
• Fill in birthday
• Fill in Gender
• Click Next
• Agree to privacy terms
• Click “I Agree.”

Click on Gmail
Takes you to Gmail Inbox where you can check for CDC email
To sign out, click smaller circle to open drop down box, then click “sign out.”
To log back into Gmail
• https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin
• Once you have an account, it will automatically appear. Click on your name and you will then be prompted for your password. Make sure to write your username and password down somewhere safe…and remember the location!
• Logging in will take you right to your inbox
• Note – Older adults may need assistance with basics such as locating scroll bars, opening email, etc.
• Google will sometimes ask for a recovery phone number or email when logging in. These are optional but can be used to send information if the user gets locked out of their account.
