Come and try hands on, fun, practical activities with easily available resources that will help your children become writing ready. AN ACTIVE APPROACHTO LEADERSHIP

Being an eective leader is not easy in ever changing contexts. We know that the people we work with bring their own values and beliefs to the workplace based on their diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences. This session discusses how to take an active approach to your leadership by knowing and adjusting your leadership style to meet the needs of both yourself and the people you are leading in the contexts you nd yourself in. We will discuss how to engage in courageous conversations in dierent situations in order to ensure eective leadership, while still being mindful of the messages that you are sending out and the need to stay aligned to your core values and beliefs.

“Leadership is about energizing people, making them enthusiastic to achieve their goals.”

LET’S GO AND PLAY:PLAY SKILLS FOR CHILDREN

Children have an innate drive to play. From a very young age children start playing. However some children do not show the expected development in their play-skills and could benet from specic games to learn these skills. During this training we will discuss the expected pattern of play skills and what kind of games children like to play at dierent stages in their development. We will give you practical and hands-on ideas of how to provide children with games that support them in the development of their socialcommunication skills, language skills, behavior and motor skills.

PHYSICAL PHONICS

Phonics is essential for teaching children the key skills they will need when they learn to read and write. Phonics should be approached in a fun and engaging way to ensure that children get the most from their learning experience. Join us on this interactive session to learn how to take phonics away from the table and make it an active and physical learning experience.

MOVEMENT AND MATHSGet up and get active with Maths!

We often associate maths with only numbers and nd our parents saying “she knows her numbers”; this often means a child can recite numbers in ascending order rather than understanding what they actually are.

Adults need to be able to understand their role in supporting mathematical development and provide children with mathematical opportunities through play by getting active and providing experiences on a larger scale, both inside and outside. By doing this, children will foster mathematical concepts and develop positive attitudes to mathematics.

This CPD will help you understand your role in introducing numbers, shapes, space and measures as well as activities that you can use to develop children’s mathematical thinking and language on a daily basis

COME OUT TO PLAY:DEVELOPING PHYSICAL

LITERACY IN THE OUTDOORENVIRONMENT

Saima YasinAED 8511:45am 1:45pm

Physical literacy is dened as the motivation, physical competence and condence to develop a fundamental movement foundation for lifelong participation in physical activity. Enabling children to develop physical literacy in the early years not only supports children’s holistic development but also encourages them to be healthy, active movers. This interactive session will explore the fundamental movement skills children can develop in the early years and will provide you with a range of activities and ideas for developing physical literacy in your outdoor environment.

GET ACTIVE IN THE CLASSROOM

Children can spend almost half of their day in the nursery environment. It is therefore important that all opportunities to encourage and promote physical activity during that time are utilised. Come and explore games and activities that children can do at their desks or in areas that require minimal rearrangement of furniture.

ACTIVE UNDER 2s

Babies and toddlers need to be supported eectively to ensure that the foundations are built to increase their ability to move well in the future. This also encourages lifelong habits for keeping active and healthy. If you work with the under 2s, come along to learn why being active is important for younger children and get some great practical ideas that you can use in your practice.
