Port Blair, July 4 The A&N Administration is strictlyimplementing the five-fold strategy ofTesting, Tracing, Treatment, COVID-appropriate behaviour andVaccination. To stop the chain oftransmission of virus and reduce thenumber of positive cases various stepshave been initiated. Since theoutbreak of COVID-19 in A&NIslands, the testing has beenaugmented manifold and as on date,413316 samples have been tested inA&N Islands. Further, the Islands TestPer Million (TPM) stands at 1033290. Apart from this, the District

Administration is also conducting mobile RATtesting in rural areas of the District. The incomingflight passengers are also being retested withRTPCR. The District Control Room regularly

monitors patients who are placedunder home isolation by keepingtrack on the person's health statusbesides providing the requiredmedicine. It is also reaching out tothe rural populace through mobileRAT testing van. As per health data, the new activecase in the last 24 hours has comedown to 4 while the total number ofactive cases during the 2nd wave(since 01.03.2021) has also comedown to 21 in the entire Islands. CTRI is a primaryregister of ClinicalTrials under WHO'sInternational ClinicalTrials Registry Platform(ICTRP) and creation ofAyurveda dataset inCTRI facilitates usagesof Ayurvedaterminologies to recordclinical study meta databased on Ayurvedainterventions. He saidthat the number oftarget population in theage group of 18-44 to bevaccinated is around1,77,000. So far, 53,374beneficiaries in thisage group have beenvaccinated with firstdose till July 3.

In view of this, theWorld Health Organization made it mandatory tocreate an online registry of clinical trials. In Indiathis work is being done through CTRI and thisregistry is also part of the World HealthOrganization registry. The four more portals that will also be launchedtomorrow are AMAR, SAHI, e-MEDHA and RMIS.All of these are primarily developed by CCRASwhile RMIS is a collaborative effort of ICMR andCCRAS.
