We are so happy to announce the appointment of Roslyn McMullen as the Ombudsman for Legacy at Maiden Park residents. The Ombudsman Program is part of the New York State Office of the State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program and is coordinated locally through Lifespan. An Ombudsman’s key area of expertise and assistance focuses on: Educating, Empowering, Advocating. Roslyn comes to the position with dedication and passion. She has a caregiver background and is happy to be able to dedicate this time in her life to residents and seniors in our community. Roslyn will help residents to understand and exercise their rights to good care in an environment that protects their dignity and quality of life. Cover Story Active Aging Week- Initiated in 2003 by the International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA), Active Aging Week takes place each year during the last week of September. Sept. 23 - Sept 29th. The weeklong campaign calls attention to and wholeheartedly celebrates the positivity of aging today. It showcases the capabilities of older adults as fully participating members of society and spotlights the role models that lead the way. Legacy at Maiden Park residents will be participating in Active Aging week with events and programs such as; a trip to the Seneca Park Zoo, a performance by our very own Drama Club, having fun at the ice cream social with Villa of Hope students and so much more. Nick is an actor, writer, and musician from Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (BFA) where he studied Acting and Political Science. Nick is best known for his role as, Eli Shapiro, the Department of Justice assistant, on Aaron Sorkin’s HBO show The Newsroom. He has also had roles in Chelsea Handler’s After Lately, the Josh Schwartz film Fun Size, and The Bold and the Beautiful on CBS.
