10/5/19
“One moment doesn’t define you or your life. Keep learning, get better, and grow stronger through adversity and become all you’re meant to be!” –Jon Gordon
Aloha Meadow Woods family! We had another great week of Stallion Strong academics and engagement this
past week. Our Habit of the Month is “Begin with in the End in Mind” as our Stallions acquire the ability to
envision an outcome which empowers them to strive with effort, uniqueness, and accomplishment. On Thursday
our students began with their first Lead Time for ELA. Thank you to our Resource Teacher Ms. Rabel and our ELA
Department for your commitment with our Stallions.
Our post soccer season has concluded with our final game at Horizon West. Thank you Stallions for your effort
and sportsmanship. Volleyball tryouts will continue this week. Parents, please download the physical packet via
Meadow Woods website https://meadowwoodsms.ocps.net/ and select the Athletics tab. The final day to tryout
will be Wednesday 10/9/19.
Our Hispanic Heritage Celebration will be on 10/16/19. To commemorate this event, we will have a Spirit week
from 10/7-10/11 filled with activities. Please look into our calendar for the “What to Wear Day”. Parents, we
also want to encourage you to join us for SAC on 10/16/19 and also remind you that we will not have an early
dismissal that afternoon.
Parents, as you, attendance in class has a direct effect on focus and learning. To that end, we will be assigning
lunch detentions to students who are tardy twice in one week, and a Wednesday after school detention for
those who are tardy three times per week. Students who have lunch detention will receive a notice during
lunches, to be signed by the parent and returned on Friday during the lunch detention. Parents of students who
receive a Wednesday detention for tardiness will receive a phone call and notice home by Monday afternoon
with information on the detention and information regarding pick-ups after detention. If you have any
questions, please email Ms. Becker at [email protected]
Students, have a great weekend and remember to sharpen the Saw. We thank you for your Stallion STRONG
support and synergy!
